At 852 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles east of Newton, or near Catawba, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Newton, Huntersville, Cornelius, Mooresville, Davidson, Westport,
Troutman, Claremont, Catawba, and Lake Norman.
