In 1989, as Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were emerging as an elite team in the NB, Nike dropped the Air Jordan 4 sneakers. While Jordan made an impact on the court, the record-setting athlete made an arguably even larger iimpact on pop culture — thanks to his signature shoes. For the first time, basketball sneakers weren’t just for playing basketball, they were a fashion statement.
And to celebrate the eponymous shoes’ 35th anniversary, Nike is re-releasing the Air Jordan 4 sneakers in a new orchid colorway for a new generation of fans.
Priced at $215, the Nike Air Jordan 4 sneakers are made from sustainable materials, including premium and synthetic leather, as well as a fabric upper with a clean look and feel that’s retro, yet modern.
Additionally, they feature the “Jumpman” logo on their tongues, eye-catching netting, “Nike Air” logo on their heels, transparent air bubble in their midsoles and prominent wings on their neutral grey collars that look classic with their ’80s style black speckles.
