Jan. 27—GRAND FORKS — A 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his adult sister in the stomach Sunday evening, Jan. 26, during an argument.
The sister was transported to the hospital by a third party and, though her condition was unknown when the Grand Forks Police Department issued its press release Monday morning, Jan. 27, the wound was believed to be non-life threatening.
The juvenile suspect fled the scene on foot but was later found and arrested without further incident, the release said. He is being held in juvenile detention on an attempted murder charge.
Juvenile suspects’ identities are generally not released to the public unless their court case is transferred to adult criminal court.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further updates are available. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the GFPD, either by phone at (701) 787-8000 or by submitting a tip on the agency’s Facebook page, website or via the Tip411 app.
