Special Weather Statement issued January 8 at 2:09AM EST by NWS Marquette MI

Additional snow accumulations of 2 inches or less is mostly
expected today downwind of Lake Superior. However, a localized
area of 6 to 8 inches is possible near the Marquette Alger county
line between Skandia/Carlshend and Deerton/Eben Junction. Lake
effect snow is expected to be very fluffy. Despite this though,
some hazardous road conditions associated with this accumulating
snow will be possible. Drivers are reminded to drive slowly with
extra space between themselves and other vehicles. Always use your
headlights, even during daylight hours!
