Man Disinvites Brother’s Girlfriend From Thanksgiving

Some people even felt that he didn’t actually do right by his wife, Lily:

“He didn’t stand up for his wife at all; he sat there silently while Lindsey abused her. How can you call him awesome instead of spineless?”

“Exactly! He also threw her under the bus by saying that Lindsey’s comments had made Lily feel disrespected. The comments were straight-up insults to both of them.”

“If being silent while an a**hole berates your wife, and then saying, ‘Don’t come, [my wife] felt disrespected,’ as if the wife was being too dramatic, is ‘defending’ her…why have enemies when you have such a defender?”

The original poster didn’t defend his wife at any point. What he should have done is put a stop to the comments from the beginning. And when his brother asked, he should’ve told him that his girlfriend was being holier than thou, obnoxious, and a nosy a**hole, and she would never be welcome in their house unless she truly apologized (and not one of those ‘sorry you felt like that’ fake apologies).

Obviously, the original poster is not the a**hole for saying no to his brother, but he’s not getting any medals for this whole situation.”

“Word. I am in awe that he’s getting kudos. He did not even do the bare minimum.”
