Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James played a secondary role to Anthony Davis for much of Sunday’s matchup against the Toronto Raptors, but when Davis exited the game with an eye injury, the four-time NBA MVP took over the game.
James recorded his third triple-double of the season with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists to help lead the Lakers to a 123-103 win in front of their home fans at Crypto.com Arena. Davis had 22 points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal before being ruled out.
In addition to James’ strong performance, Austin Reaves had a game-high 27 points and six assists while D’Angelo Russell had 15 points off the bench.
But the night belonged to James, as fans were impressed by the 39-year-old’s ability to take control of the game down the stretch:

AD went down and LeBron literally has dominated every single facet of this game on both ends.
Cleaning glass, playmaking, and scoring.
Nobody in the history of the sport has ever been better at diagnosing and then acting upon what the team needs and when they need it better…
The Lakers are certainly hoping that Davis won’t miss too much time, but they should be comforted in knowing that James can still dominate when necessary.
Los Angeles (6-4) will look to keep the momentum going when it meets the Memphis Grizzlies (7-4) on Wednesday.
