It’s safe to say that LeBron James had a favorite player at the 2025 Hoophall Classic.

The Los Angeles Lakers star took to X to praise the performance of his son, Bryce, in the annual tournament held at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Bryce James was playing for Sierra Canyon High School and had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists in the 84-42 victory over Grayson High School of Georgia. This was the only game Sierra Canyon will play in the cross-country tournament.

James is a senior at Sierra Canyon and is committed to play college basketball at Arizona. He is rated as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports’ composite rankings. He also had offers from USC, Ohio State and Duquesne but elects to choose a different bath from his brother, Bronny.

Bronny James spent the 2023-24 season at USC and was a second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. He and LeBron James became the first father-son duo in NBA history this season.

Bryce James is at least two seasons away from making the NBA, so LeBron James would need to hold on for quite a bit longer to play against or with his younger son. However, his posts from Saturday show how in tune he was with Bryce’s big day.
