Fans at the Chase Center were treated to a familiar sight on Sunday with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson put on a three-point shooting clinic, but this time, they were doing so in opposite uniforms.

Thompson, who is now a member of the Dallas Mavericks, scored a season-high 29 points with seven three-pointers to help lead a 143-133 victory against Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Curry finished with 26 points and 10 assists, adding seven triples of his own in the loss.

In addition to Thompson’s big night, the Mavs were led by Luka Dončić’s 45-point, 11-rebound, 13-assist triple-double. Dončić shot 16-of-23 from the field and also had a solid defensive performance with three steals and two blocks.

Curry was one of four Warriors players to score over 20 points, with Andrew Wiggins leading the way with 29 points. Draymond Green added 21 points off the bench and Jonathan Kuminga had 20.

The Mavs (51.2 percent) and the Warriors (50.0 percent) were incredibly efficient from beyond the arc and their 48 combined three-pointers set a new NBA record.

The three-point barrage by Thompson and Curry was the talk of social media in Sunday’s win by the Mavs:

Sunday’s game was what the Mavs envisioned when they acquired Thompson this offseason. If he can continue shooting efficiently from beyond the arc, Dallas will have a strong chance to make a second straight run to the NBA Finals.

The Mavs (17-9) will try to keep the momentum going when they meet the Los Angeles Clippers (14-12) on Thursday.
