Former Ohio State defensive back Tyreke Johnson called out head coach Ryan Day on Saturday.

In a post on X, Johnson claimed that Day “didn’t say a word to the team” at halftime of the Buckeyes’ 52-24 loss to Alabama in the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship matchup and blamed his coaching staff instead.

Y’all can say I’m hating or whatever y’all want but. I knew coach Day was not the answer when we played in the national championship against Bama and at half time he didn’t say a word to the team just went in the office and started to blame other coaches.

Ohio State hasn’t earned an opportunity to compete for a national title since, with Day’s team suffering a surprising 13-10 upset loss to Michigan on Saturday that effectively eliminated the Buckeyes from Big Ten title game contention.
