…DRY CONDITIONS AND GUSTY WINDS WILL MAINTAIN A HIGH FIRE THREAT…
…FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM CHST THIS EVENING
THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR DRY CONDITIONS AND GUSTY WINDS…
* WIND…Northeast wind 15 to 25 mph with higher daytime gusts,
especially over higher terrain.
* HUMIDITY…Down to 50 to 60 percent at times, mainly from late
morning until sunset.
* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended. Conditions will ease during
the nighttime hours.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A relative moistening trend is expected over
the weekend as models are bringing in higher dewpoints, increasing
clouds, and isolated to low-end scattered showers.
Therefore, the Red Flag Warning was allowed to expire. However,
winds 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts will continue, so an elevated
fire threat will remain. The Fire Weather Watch continues through
the weekend and may need to be upgraded to Red Flag Warning if
conditions warrant.
